Klahret-MN🌳
I’ve lived in Minnesota close to 20 years and I’ve finally traveled further outside of the cities to explore northern Minnesota
The destination is Klahret geodesic domes, a four hour drive from the city our drive was venturesome, we’d made so many stops along the way.
Our first destination was Banning State Park whisking my lover away for a picnic, then we headed to tobies bakery and restaurant in Hinckley MN for some much deserved sweets. The smell of the cinnamon rolls was intoxicating. We made one last stop at this cute little antique dish ware sale on the side of the road, I just had to stop! The blues and greens of the crystal & glass pieces on display were so pretty. I picked out a few things for my kitchen cabinet and we’d went on to continuing our journey to the Glensheen mansion. The home is immaculate, so grandiose my favorite rooms are Helen’s room, the breakfast room & the stone bridge.
Arriving to the property things were so easy going & relaxing. The property owners were friendly & welcoming, there were chickens & goats on the property I’d just about fed them all of our food by the ending of our trip, they were so sweet. The campsite was so peaceful our dome nestled was in the woods with a slight view of Lake Superior, it’s waters just flows on forever.
Lutsen mountain is the most beautiful place I’ve experienced yet, I do love beaches but there’s no comparison for me. Escaping into Mother Nature is where I feel at peace. However the mosquitoes I could live without. The gondola lift only accentuated the scenic views of moose mountain, Im so in love with the place. Grand Marais was a nice ending to our excursion, we’d shared intimate conversations amongst bottles of wine, staring up to the stars & playing board games. Lake Superior’s waters went on and on, I can only imagine how beautiful the city is once the snow falls.
In my opinion, Betty’s pies weren’t that great.
Until my next excursion
